Manchester United have made a stunning start to the season under Jose Mourinho, with the former Chelsea boss winning all three of his league games so far. The aforementioned Chelsea have also won 100% of their games so far, too, and at the heart of their defence is John Terry.
Today, Terry took to social media to post a throwback photo of a very young-looking man posing with a certain Sir Alex Ferguson and the Premier League trophy. He then went on to reminisce about winning four league titles, as well as thanking Sir Alex for what he has done for him.
At the end of the day, credit where credit is due. John Terry was one of the best centre-halves in the country on his day, and certainly gave United forwards a torrid time on occasion. You simply have to respect him as a footballer.
It’s also great to see the defender putting footballing rivalry aside and not forgetting what Sir Alex Ferguson has done for him in the past. That’s what football is all about.
