Alexis Sanchez is still, quite unbelievably, a Manchester United player. The superstar Chilean came on a free transfer, though his hefty wages have been well-documented.
The good news for Red Devils fans who want Sanchez gone is the fact that the European transfer window doesn’t actually close until September 2nd; so there’s a possibility he still could leave.
Well, that dream may be on the way to becoming a reality. The story comes from the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, who states that yesterday Inter Milan began their ‘serious pursuit’ for the 30-year-old United star.
Furthermore, it claims that terms have already been agreed with the player himself, while the deal would be a loan move with the option to buy. Presumably, United would be taking a large chunk of Sanchez’s wages – at least for the foreseeable future.
At this stage, I just think that United want Sanchez away from Old Trafford. He has only had a negative effect on the whole club and the sooner he’s gone the better it would be for all involved – including the player himself.
Sometimes, situations just don’t work out. Sanchez is a top-quality footballer, but at United, his confidence just looks completely shot. Maybe there’s just nothing left in the tank, maybe he’s just given up on succeeding in Manchester. One thing that’s clear, though, he needs to move elsewhere as soon as possible.
