Italian manager keen on replacing Jose Mourinho at Man United: report

Manchester United Football Club have tried three different managers since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to call quits on his Old Trafford legacy.

If results keep going in a similar way, the Red Devils may be moving onto their fourth soon. One man who is seemingly interested in taking charge at United is ex-Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte.

The Italian is currently being lined up by Real Madrid, however, according to Sky Sports Italia, per the Daily Express, Conte is stalling as he’d prefer to take over at the Theatre of Dreams…

Apparently, Conte wants to work with Paul Pogba again, while also getting to coach players like Ander Herrera, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez; footballers he has been interested in signing in the past.

I like Conte, I think he worked wonders with Chelsea in his debut year, but things went downhill rather rapidly, that has to be a concern.

If he were to come to United, he would have a point to prove. He’d be trying to topple his old club and show them that they were wrong to let him go, but is his playing style really going to appeal to the United fans? Particularly when you consider that they want Mourinho out for his defensive style. Honestly, I’d like to see United go for someone completely different, someone who is more on the front foot rather than playing a counter-attacking brand of football.
