Jack Butland has been pictured in Man United training for the first time since his move to the club.
Manchester United Football Club are slowly evolving under Erik ten Hag, though the Old Trafford side are still early on in the process.
The Dutchman’s job has been complicated somewhat by the fact the Glazer family are actively trying to sell the club. Effectively, he’s working with one hand tied behind his back…
Anyway, there was enough money in the bank to get in Jack Butland on loan. He’ll now play a backup role to David de Gea in between the sticks.
The Englishman probably won’t see loads of action, though it was a no-brainer being number two at United rather than Crystal Palace.
Anyway yesterday, the January loan signing was pictured in training with his new teammates for the first time. He took to Twitter to share a photo of himself in amongst it.
For Butland, this is a massive opportunity. The Englishman has a real chance to prove his worth and who knows, if he plays well enough, then the shot-stopper could be a genuine option for the job in the long term.
Butland is someone who has talent aplenty. That’s always been the case. He was once thought of as someone who could potentially become one of the best in the business. Although that hasn’t happened, there’s still a very good goalkeeper in there.
Either way, it’s good to see him out there with his new teammates and putting the work in. Hopefully, we’ll see him in action in the cup competitions over the coming weeks and months.
