As you’d imagine, with no football being played right now, attention has turned to transfer stories.

More often than not, it’s the same few names popping up. Well, in an exclusive by James Robson in the Evening Standard, United’s transfer plans are summed up perfectly.

Again, Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jack Grealish are highlighted, though it’s the latter, in particular, who has us intrigued.

The star 24-year-old from Aston Villa is among Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ‘leading targets’ with United believing the attacking midfielder will cost around £60million.

What’s interesting is that James Maddison is also named, but his fee is set at around £80million, which apparently makes Grealish the premiere target.

After *that* incident involving Grealish last week, I personally thought that perhaps Solskjaer would look elsewhere. Seemingly, that isn’t the case and United are still intent on adding the Villa captain this summer.

I guess the fee largely depends on whether Villa are relegated or not. No doubt Grealish won’t want to spend another term in the Championship, but if they can survive, the Midlands outfit can command a much larger fee for their icon.

Grealish has that swagger, that cockiness, that arrogance which you don’t mind seeing in players. Cristiano Ronaldo had it, though I’m obviously not directly comparing them.

The Englishman will bring more personality into this squad that still needs a little bit of something to take it to that next level. I’m all for getting this deal done, if it’s possible, that is…
