Jack Grealish is Man United’s number one target, could cost £80m+: report

Manchester United Football Club have made some astute signings under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though there is still much work ahead for the Baby Faced Assassin.

The Red Devils still need to add some quality and depth to both their midfield and attacking units, with the summer transfer window set to be a busy one for the Old Trafford club.

Several names have been linked with potential Reds moves, though one that’s cropping up more often than most is Jack Grealish. We’ve been covering all those stories here.

Well yesterday, The Athletic offered us another update. They say that the star 24-year-old is Solskjaer’s number one transfer target according to their ‘well-placed sources’.

However, Grealish wouldn’t be cheap. In fact, he could cost £80million+ if Aston Villa avoid relegation this term. Right now, they’re one place and point above the dreaded drop, so as things stand it’s touch and go.

From a United perspective, it’d obviously be beneficial to see Villa relegated as it’d make it easier for us to sign the boyhood Villans supporter. Things become much tougher if they avoid the drop which honestly, I think they will…

That said, United have deep pockets and they can afford to blow other potential suitors right out of the water. It would be easier to strike a deal if the Reds can finish in the top four, mind…
