Just yesterday, we covered a story from the Manchester Evening News, in which it was claimed that Manchester United were looking to ‘press ahead’ with their summer transfer strategy, in which, the Reds were to ‘prioritise’ a move for Jack Grealish.
Well, that story has since been backed up by the Daily Mirror, who on Saturday night, made a similar claim while offering us slightly more information.
The Mirror go bold, they say that the talented 24-year-old Grealish has overtaken Jadon Sancho as Manchester United’s number one transfer target this summer.
That’s largely due to Borussia Dortmund’s asking price. With ‘cash at a premium’ this summer, it is claimed United will again ‘prioritise’ Grealish this summer with Dortmund ‘unwilling’ to lower their £100m asking price for the English right-winger.
Dortmund were asking for a nine-figure fee and that asking price hasn’t been lowered despite the COVID-19 pandemic which is affecting every club in the world right now.
Seemingly, even United are having to be slightly careful where money is concerned, though make no mistake about it, Grealish would be a stunning signing if the Old Trafford club could somehow pull it off.
I’ve said it before but I think a lot of it comes down to whether Villa are relegated or not. I don’t think Grealish would be content playing another season in the Championship. He’s at that age now where it’s time to make a decision on his future and hopefully, that decision is red…
