Jadon Sancho this, Jadon Sancho that. Yep, we’re just as fed up with this rumour as you are. However, we’ve made a promise to our readers that we’ll cover this every step of the way, so here goes…
Apparently, the superstar attacker is not ‘100% convinced’ about making a United transfer this summer, believing a move to Old Trafford may not be the ‘right step’ at this stage in his career.
Understandably, the attacker wants to ‘wait and see’ if the 20-time Premier League champions will qualify for next season’s Champions League – which is obviously a big factor in any potential move for the Englishman.
Currently, United are outside the Champions League places, though if they win their remaining five games, the Reds will overtake Leicester City and steal that last spot.
It’s also worth noting that fifth-place may well end up qualifying for Champions League football next season – but only if Manchester City’s UEFA ban holds up.
For our long-term readers, you’ll know our stance on any transfer (in or out). If said player isn’t completely sold on playing for United, I don’t want them here.
Yes, Sancho is an unbelievable footballer who I’d love to see at the Theatre of Dreams. However, I only want him here if he completely buys in to what Solskjaer is trying to build.
I do appreciate that Champions League football is a big part of Sancho’s thinking, though. Hopefully, United can do enough to qualify for that tournament next season as it will have a big impact on the sort of player the Reds can attract on the whole.
The proof is in the pudding, mind. Twenty goals and seventeen assists in all competitions is pretty impressive for a 20-year-old. Blimey, I sincerely hope he wants to be a Red Devil!
With Jadon Sancho Man United doubts creeping in, are there any other viable options for the Old Trafford club?
