Jadon Sancho has suffered an injury while away with England.
Manchester United were dealt an injury blow a few days ago, when it was confirmed that Jadon Sancho had picked up an issue.
The Englishman, who started against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, missed England’s game against Hungary due to the issue.
Well now we’ve been given more information on the Sancho problem and it comes from Henry Winter. Apparently, the United star has picked up a ‘minor knock’ which will keep him out of qualifiers against both Andorra and Poland.
Those games take place today and on Wednesday. Although it’s ‘expected’ that Sancho will recover in time to take on Newcastle United next Saturday, that does leave Solskjaer sweating on Sancho’s fitness.
Obviously, if he can’t play on Wednesday evening, it’s going to be touch and go whether the winger will be feeling close to 100% just a couple of days later when Newcastle United visit Old Trafford.
As of right now, I’d be surprised if Sancho is risked during that one against The Magpies, particularly now that Cristiano Ronaldo is in the building and we should have more than enough firepower to get all three points regardless of who starts.
Solskjaer has always adopted the cautious approach when it comes to looking after his players so why should we expect anything different here?
Sancho had a tough summer following his penalty miss, while confidence is still probably low because of that. We should be patient with him, give him all the time in the world to get fully up to speed and, most importantly, continue to support him.
There’s a top-class player in there but Sancho will need time to settle in. Hopefully, this injury isn’t a major worry for both United and Sancho, while I’d like to think the Englishman is keeping in good spirits.
Get well soon, Jadon!
