Jadon Sancho has sent a heartfelt message to Borussia Dortmund upon expiry of his loan.
Manchester United have been dealing with many off-field problems this season. An ownership change. Antony issues. Perhaps, most frustratingly, Jadon Sancho’s public fallout with Erik ten Hag.
The winger refused to apologise to the Red Devils boss after the spat, eventually leading to Sancho heading to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season. By all accounts, the Englishman would have a pretty average time of it over in Germany, though he seemed to enjoy his time over there more than he does in England.
At the end of the day, there has been fault on both sides. I still believe there should be no way back here at United for Sancho, though reports have suggested that’s still a very real possibility.
Anyway, it doesn’t seem as though Sancho will be heading back to Dortmund next season, with the Englishman releasing an emotional statement on social media after the Champions League final.

We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of players!
I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we… pic.twitter.com/yxO3FIrxpG
It’s fantastic to see that Sancho has such an excellent rapport with the Borussia Dortmund fans. Part of me wishes he has this similar relationship with the Old Trafford Faithful, though that bond seems to be broken.
At the end of the day, there have been situations where Sancho could have done more to respect the badge on his chest. As soon as that happens, it’s hard to fix that relationship.
I still believe the logical decision is to sell Sancho outright and move in a different direction, as brutal as it sounds. There’s certainly no way back for Sancho at Old Trafford if Erik ten Hag remains manager.
