A Jadon Sancho Manchester United transfer could still be on the cards, as the Red Devils remain interested in the Englishman.
Over the summer, Jadon Sancho was the talk of Manchester-town. A deal looked inevitable. We thought it was all-but sealed. In the end, though, United fans all over the glove would be left disappointed.
Instead, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would seal deadline day deals for two young wingers; Amad Traore and Facundo Pellistri. Both may well be talented, though neither can make that instant impact that Sancho undoubtedly would have.
Well, the good news is that United aren’t throwing in the towel in regards to Sancho.
According to 90min.com, United are ‘still keen’ on signing the 20-year-old superstar, while they’re ‘trying to strike a deal’ in ‘early 2021’. Apparently, the Red Devils want to agree a deal before the European Championships, for formal completion the following summer.
Understandably, Sancho remains ‘high’ on Solskjaer’s wishlist, though you’d imagine competition to sign the Englishman will only grow. After all, we’re talking about a player who continues to improve year-on-year. With that, his price will only increase.
90min.com state that United are looking to agree a deal in the winter transfer window, with a view to Sancho making the move to Old Trafford that same summer. It seems as if they’re trying to steal a march on their competition.
Sancho is still a big need
Right-wing is still a major issue for the Red Devils. Mason Greenwood hasn’t been as productive as he was last term, while in terms of back-up options, Juan Mata or Daniel James aren’t anywhere near good enough.
Sancho would fill a major hole in this squad, propelling United to that next level. He wouldn’t be cheap, hence why you can understand United’s decision to not splash £100million+ to sign the Englishman in the middle of a pandemic. Hopefully, we’re in a far more familiar, more normal situation when summer 2021 eventually rolls around.
