The Jadon Sancho saga rumbles on and on. We’re now providing multiple updates a day in regards to the talented Englishman. It certainly feels like Manchester United aren’t hiding the fact that he’s their number one target.
Yes, we’ll admit, we’re starting to get a little fed up with this one. We just want the deal done, but if you’re looking for every snippet of information, we’ve got you covered.
The most up-to-date information comes from The Independent. Don’t worry, Reds fans. Apparently, a United move for the superstar 20-year-old is ‘edging closer’ with Borussia Dortmund willing to agree on an initial fee plus bonuses and clauses later down the line.
Dortmund will accept an initial £60m transfer tag, in a deal that could eventually rise over the £100million mark. Right now, though, there is ‘still a distance’ regarding the pay plan and how much money will eventually be paid.
Dortmund willing to deal?
What’s intriguing is that the German club are willing to sell at this point, and they’re ‘almost pursuing a deal’ as they have planned for Sancho’s departure and want their squad for 2020/21 finalised by August 10th.
Understandably, Dortmund don’t want a long-running saga and want a deal done. This could definitely play into United’s hands, as they look to secure Sancho’s signature at as cheap-a-fee as possible.
Without wanting to jinx it, this feels like a deal that can be done. Signing Sancho would be a huge boost to this squad and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s goals of winning trophies. If this move does happen, though, there can be no excuses for the Baby Faced Assassin if the 2020/21 campaign doesn’t work out as planned.
Hopefully, this transfer doesn’t drag out for weeks and weeks and Sancho is ready to play for Manchester United on the opening day of next season.
Expect the Jadon Sancho saga to rumble on for a little while yet, but this certainly feels positive, right…?
