Jadon Sancho took to Twitter to send an emotional message to the Man United fans after his goal vs Leeds.
Manchester United may not have grabbed the victory they wanted at home to Leeds United, though it was an entertaining, end-to-end game. Coming from 2-0 down to salvage a draw deserves some credit, although the performance, on the whole, was below par.
The match itself will largely be remembered by the return to the score-sheet for Jadon Sancho – who has been going through some personal battles over the last few months.
It truly was special to see the Englishman back out on that pitch, gliding across the turf with his typical class and skill. He absolutely helped change the game back in United’s favour, scoring the eventual leveller and sending Old Trafford into frantic celebration.
You could see just how much it meant to Sancho. You understood the relief he felt when that ball hit the bac of the net. It was a beautiful moment watching him celebrate.
After the game, Sancho took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to United fans, admitting he admitting that scoring feeling during his time away.
We sometimes take footballers for granted. They’re humans, with very real problems, just like me and you. Sancho was obviously dealing with some stuff. He needed time away and we have to respect that.
Now that he’s back, fully fit and mentally ready, it’s great to see Sancho out there yet again. It feels like a new signing, with a rejuvenated Sancho ready to hit the ground running and help this team in their bid to finish inside the top four and win a trophy.
