Jadon Sancho set to have Man United medical today: report

Jadon Sancho is all-but-confirmed as a Man United player, with the finishing touches expected to be sorted today.

Well, after what feels like a couple of years of disappointment, Manchester United are finally about to land their man.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tried and tried to push a deal to sign Jadon Sancho over the line. Now, we’re approaching the completion of a deal.

According to the Daily Mail, Sancho’s medical is set for today, after United and Dortmund agreed to a £73million fee a couple of weeks ago. The winger is expected at Carrington today, to finalise his move and put the finishing touches on all the terms and conditions.

Then, the 21-year-old will have three weeks off following his participation at the European Championships with England.

In terms of timeframe, that’ll mean Sancho will only have a week or so of pre-season under his belt before the serious action starts next month. Right now I’m willing to stick my neck out and say that it’s highly unlikely the Englishman is in the starting line-up as United gear up to take on Leeds in their Premier League opener.

It goes without saying, Sancho needs some time off. Sure, he may not have played every game but he was training on a day-to-day basis and the mental tiredness from coming so close will be playing on his mind for a little while yet. It definitely makes sense to give him as much time off as possible as he absolutely needs the rest.

Hopefully, the move is made official in the not too distant future, then Sancho can focus solely on his club football. This boy is made of strong stuff and I don’t doubt he’ll come to United feeling ready to prove to everyone that he’s a world-class footballer.
