Jadon Sancho will continue training alone, away from the Man United squad, following disciplinary issues.
Erik ten Hag must be feeling the heat right now. With each passing day, a new issue seems to rear its ugly head. Right now, it feels like the right-wing position is cursed at Manchester United Football Club.
Mason Greenwood is no more. Antony also has some legal issues he’s dealing with. Now, it’s Jadon Sancho’s turn.
The Englishman was involved in a very public spat with Ten Hag just before the international break, with ‘showdown talks’ having now taken place.
Well, there was seemingly no resolution in those discussions, with the club now confirming that Sancho will train ‘away from the first-team group’ following a ‘discipline’ issue.
It seems as though neither party is really willing to back down from their stance at this point. However, the manager is always right in these type of situations. No ifs, buts or maybes.
The ball was always going to land in Sancho’s court. It’s either A: Apologise and get back into the team, or B: Find a new club, possibly as early as January. Right now, it seems as though the latter is looking like the scenario that’s going to play out.
The mad thing to me is that if Sancho just kept quiet, he’d be starting on the right-wing this coming weekend against Brighton!
The verdict
Sancho is in big trouble. Unless he has a change of heart and decides to apologise, probably now via a public statement, I just don’t see Ten hag backing down.
Our gaffer is an authoritarian, he will not stand for any rubbish from his players. Sancho is just the latest example of that discipline in full flow.
