Jadon Sancho has made his first start for Man United at Old Trafford – in a behind closed doors game against Burnley.
Manchester United Football Club have made two big signings this summer. Raphael Varane would be introduced to his new supporters before kick-off at the weekend against Leeds United. Then, Jadon Sancho would make his debut off the bench late on.
The reasoning behind his sub appearance was due to the fact that Sancho hasn’t really trained much, hence he’s not fully up to speed in terms of match fitness.
Well, today, Sancho definitely took a step in the right direction. He has been spotted playing in a behind closed doors friendly at home to Burnley this afternoon.
The Englishman was on the winning side, with United running out 3-1 victors. I’m reliably informed the goals came from Harry Maguire, Jesse Lingard and Fred.

No doubt it would have been great for Sancho to get some minutes in the tank, ahead of a potential start away at Southampton this coming weekend.
Sancho didn’t score nor assist in this game, but to see him out there is another step in the right direction.
As for other involvements, Maguire, Luke Shaw, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial all played some part. Raphael Varane was not involved in the squad at all.
What this indicates to me is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t believe the fitness levels are just quite there yet. That can possibly be put down to the fact that United were one or two friendlies light in pre-season, following the cancellation of a game against Preston due to COVID-19 infecting the United camp.
Hopefully, our lads came through unscathed and they’re ready to go this weekend.
