To me, it feels as though a Jadon Sancho move to Old Trafford is a case of when rather than if.
The overall fit seems perfect for all involved, though getting the deal over the line will be understandably easier said than done due to other interested parties and a Borussia Dortmund willingness to keep ahold fo their star man.
Manchester United are seemingly doing all they can to lure Sancho to the Theatre of Dreams, though. According to a report from the Daily Mirror, the talented United transfer target Sancho is to be offered a legendary shirt number; #7.
Worn by greats including George Best, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, the number seven is probably the most iconic jersey number in United history.
Recently, it has been worn by some flops including Alexis Sanchez and Memphis Depay, but I can’t think of a player who’d fill the bill more than Sancho does.
Young, plays in a position of need, hungry to learn and keen to link-up with England teammate Marcus Rashford. It’s understandable, then, that said report claims the Reds, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, are ‘hell-bent’ on getting the deal done – despite interest from Chelsea, too.
Hopefully, the groundwork is already being laid down and United have stolen a march on their rivals as players like Jadon Sancho do not come around very often…
