Jadon Sancho to hand in transfer request, Man United move will probably still happen: report

Jadon Sancho this, Jadon Sancho that. We’re covering the saga daily here at Old Trafford Faithful. Today’s update is a big one, with a report claiming that Sancho will hand in a transfer request to get the deal done.

Yes, that’s right. According to Daniel Harris for Cloud Sports, Sancho is prepared to hand in a transfer request.

Apparently, the talented star is ‘committed’ to a United move, while Harris adds that a deal will ‘probably’ still happen. Sancho is also ready for a return to England following a three-year spell in Germany.

It’s no secret that Sancho remains the number one transfer target. Though, I’ll admit, seeing him back in BVB training did leave me somewhat confused.

You do get the impression that the supposed August 10th deadline was a bluff, mind, while United remain confident of landing their man.

United repeating the same old mistakes?

What’s frustrating to me is that it’s typical United, who are again dragging their toes. As Harris says, we played out the exact same scenario with Leicester City over Harry Maguire last summer – only to pay their demands and meet their asking price.

Again, it looks like Dortmund aren’t budging on their £108m valuation, with half of that upfront. Why not just give them what they want, land their man and focus on other targets?

I get it, there’s an awful lot of money involved. It’s pretty simple, really though. Either pay up or look elsewhere. Why spend the next six weeks dilly-dallying and messing around? It just doesn’t make sense.

You look at Chelsea and Manchester City, who are already carrying out their business. That’s why the excuse that United are still finishing off their 2019/20 season doesn’t wash with me as City are still playing European football, too…

My personal stance remains the same. A deal will be done, eventually. It seems like Sancho wants the move, while United have a glaring need for a right-winger. He fits the player profile perfectly, though other signings are needed as this squad needs depth.

  1. Am growing tired of this scanario, dortmund r playing hard ball on united this is just an act fustrate united on this deal knowingfully well how the corona virus pandemic financial heat on clubs but if the player really want the move then he should summit a transfer request,i belive if that happens then dortmund will have no option than to lower their asking price,i love to see him with the scat at united in few weeks,we love this club and its financial stability is also my concern dortmund can not be pushing man united arround simply because we need him, united must trade with cautio
