Jadon Sancho will likely be wearing the red of Manchester United next season.
Manchester United valiantly failed in their effort to bring Jadon Sancho to the Theatre of Dreams last summer.
However, it looks like they’re going to fare better this time around. All the stories over the last 24 hours seem to suggest that, anyway…
The latest update comes from Sky Sports journalist, Kaveh Solhekol. He took to Twitter to confirm United will sign the star this summer, adding that Sancho ‘will be playing for Man United next season’.
To further add to that, the player wants the move, United want to sign him and Dortmund want to sell. At this point, it feels like a done deal.
The improved offer from United stands at around £75million, presumably with various add-ons and bonuses on top of that. However, Sancho is just 21. This is a young man who can give us a decade of service all being well.
Sancho has lit up the Bundesliga over the last few seasons. But now, he’s ready to return home to England. Where better to hone your trade on these shores than Manchester United?
Finally, the Red Devils will have someone reliable over on that right-hand side of the attack. Sancho brings goals, assists, directness and a genuine goal threat. Although United already had plenty of firepower, football is a squad game now more than it ever was before. We’re lucky to acquire someone of his calibre.
I guess all that’s left now is to wait for an official announcement, though that likely won’t happen until after England return from the European Championships.
