Manchester United have been constantly linked with a move for Jadon Sancho this season, as the Red Devils look to bolster a right-wing position that definitely needs work.
Well today, German journalist Heiko Wasser offered us an update on Sancho’s future – and it’s certainly a positive one for the Old Trafford club.
Wasser took to Twitter to let us all know that the 20-year-old United target was benched for Borussia Dortmund’s game against RB Leipzig today, which is ‘ok’ because his ‘head is already at United’…
Sancho is seemingly ready for a move back to the Premier League, with United at the forefront of his mind.
The 20-year-old has been an absolute joy to watch for Dortmund over the last eighteen months or so, as he goes from strength-to-strength as a player.
He’s perfect for an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regime which heavily focuses on youth and giving young players a platform. In a front three alongside both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, Sancho would be perfect.
There is one rather large elephant in the room, though. COVID-19 means this summer will be unlike any other. Money will be tight, while Dortmund aren’t going to want to lose their prized asset at a reduced price…
Hopefully, Edward Woodward bites the bullet and gets the deal done, but I think this saga will drag on all summer as the 20-time Premier League champions will certainly dig their heels in.
