Jadon Sancho’s refusal to sign for Chelsea gives Man United a boost: report

Manchester United Football Club are well-known admirers of Jadon Sancho. We’ve been covering that story pretty extensively here at Old Trafford Faithful.

Amongst the other teams keen in acquiring the Englishman are Chelsea. After all, it does feel like every single club who can afford Sancho will be trying to get themselves in amongst the race to add him to their squad.

Well, Spanish media outlet Sport have offered United a pretty significant boost in their pursuit of the 20-year-old superstar. Apparently, Sancho is refusing to sign for Chelsea, which could aid Frank Lampard’s chances at signing Philippe Coutinho instead…

With Chelsea out of the running, it feels like the only realistic competitors on British shores for Sancho’s signature is Liverpool. However, they’ve been pretty reluctant to splash the mega-money over the last few years – leading me to believe that United are clear front-runners.

Acquiring Sacho would be unbelievable. He’s an outrageously-gifted young man who has been tearing it up in Germany. Perhaps he feels it’s time to leave Borussia Dortmund and return to his homeland. No doubt he’ll be looking to prove that Manchester City were wrong to move on from him in a deal worth just £12million…

If he chooses Red, it’d be another huge step in the right direction for Solskjaer going into a massively-important 2020/21 season.
