Manchester United had a quietly effective 2019 summer transfer window, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearing out dead-wood galore, while significantly strengthening the defence.
Although it wasn’t the major overhaul that many fans expected, it was certainly a good start. Anyway, United are already identifying their targets for summer 2020 – with a star English duo sitting atop their wishlist…
According to ESPN‘s sources, James Maddison and Jadon Sancho are Solskjaer’s main targets for next summer as he looks to continue to build his time around a young, preferably British core.
Apparently, the Baby Faced Assassin is ‘keen to add more goals’ hence why he’s looking at two top-class attackers – though it goes without saying that they will not come cheap.
United have not been put off by Sancho signing a new deal, while Leicester value Maddison at £70-80million. By the time next summer rolls around, the pair will realistically probably cost the best part of £200million – but they could be at Old Trafford for the best part of a decade all being well…
It’s nice to see Solskjaer targeting players early and looking to get deals done as quickly and efficiently as possible. With a few more tweaks coupled with David de Gea’s new contract, you can see this team becoming a real force for years to come.
