James Rodriguez’s agent makes contact with Man Utd, attempts to find Colombian a new home: report

Back on April 9th, we covered a story from Spanish media outlet AS, who went bold and claimed that Manchester United wanted to sign James Rodrigez from Real Madrid this summer.

Well today, we have another update on the future of the Colombian. This time, the story comes from Sport, translated by The Metro. They state that the superstar 28-year-old is ‘searching for a new home’.

However, it’s his agent that’s doing the pushing, with him contacting United as opposed to the other way around. Jorge Mendes is attempting to engineer a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu for his client, approaching United chiefs over a potential deal.

Rodriguez spent the last couple of seasons on loan with Bayern Munich, where he continued to struggle for form. Now, it seems as though the attacking midfielder is looking for a new permanent home. Should Old Trafford be that place?

For me, this ship has sailed. United have been linked with Rodriguez on numerous occasions and quite frankly, I’m bored of the stories. He’s 28 now, though, without really showing he still has what it takes to play at the highest level.

No doubt he’d command a large transfer fee and an even heftier wage packet. Personally, I’d urge Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to look elsewhere…
