The rebuilding job that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has on his hands is a monumental one. Manchester United will need to give him time to undertake the overhaul.
We’ve already seen both Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia announce that they’ll be departing on free transfers. A third Red Devil is to follow suit…
According to the Manchester Evening News, 23-year-old striker James Wilson will leave United on a free transfer after the club decided not to trigger an extension within his deal.
Wilson spent this term on loan with Aberdeen and he’ll be a free agent on June 30th. I’d be surprised if he’s available for long because he’s clearly a talented boy who has just been unlucky with injuries.
The fact that he’s young plays into his favour, but it is a massive shame that it didn’t work out for him at Old Trafford – particularly after scoring twice on debut against Hull City when Ryan Giggs was interim manager.
He was used sparingly by Louis van Gaal at times, too, but eventually, spending far too much time on the treatment table is what led to the end of his United career.
