James Wilson to start against Crystal Palace, Robin van Persie to be dropped

Lets rewind back to May 2014, Manchester United’s season was pretty much over, and Ryan Giggs was serving his final home game of his interim role as manager. That game turned out to be the Welsh wizard’s Old Trafford bow, but on that day, the club gave a huge chance to a young striker called James Wilson.

That day he repaid the faith shown in him by scoring two goals, but this season he has very much found himself on the fringes due to the calibre of strikers in front of him. However, according to The Mirror, James Wilson is to get his chance in the starting XI against Crystal Palace this weekend.

If true, this is a huge chance for the young striker, and one that he simply has to take. With players like Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie waiting in the wings, Wilson must grasp this with both hands and show Louis van Gaal exactly why he should be starting week-in week-out.

Personally, I reckon Wilson has the attitude and mindset to do so, and I really like the faith Louis van Gaal is putting in these Manchester United youngsters.
