Much has been made about Javier Hernandez’s potential Old Trafford exit this summer, as the Mexican hit-man has become increasingly frustrated about a lack of game time at Old Trafford. However, according to The Times, Hernandez could be offered a way out by La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year old striker was an instant hit at United when he made a £6million move from C.D. Guadalajara in his native Mexico. However with the signing of Robin van Persie, and the emergence of Danny Welbeck, Chicharito has seen himself slip down to fourth in the pecking order.
A lack of playing time has seen him lose his place in the Mexico starting XI, with his national manager calling for Hernandez to leave Manchester United in in favour of a club who can offer him more playing time.
Atletico Madrid would be a plausible destination for Chicharito, who are looking to fill the void left by Diego Costa. No fee has been mentioned, but with two years left on Hernandez’s contract, Manchester United will be looking to make a profit on the £6million paid for him in 2010.
Javier Hernandez scores goals. He’s an instinctive finisher who’ll hit the back of the net nine times out of ten when on the ball in the penalty area. Sadly, he doesn’t offer much else, and in the modern day Premier League you need to be able to hold up the ball better.
With the emergence of young talents like James Wilson and Will Keane coming through, I’d much prefer Javier Hernandez’s playing time shared out between these two so they can learn and develop.
