Jeremie Frimpong is ‘keen’ on a possible transfer to Man United
Manchester United could well be in the hunt for a new right-back this summer – despite great performances from both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Perhaps Erik ten Hag is looking for someone who falls more in line with his style of play, whereas Wan-Bissaka doesn’t really fit the bill despite his levels of play of late.
One man who has been linked with a Red switch before is Jeremie Frimpong. Now, the Bayer Leverkusen man will see his name in the headlines again.
It’s Fabrizio Romano with the claim. He took to Twitter yesterday to offer his followers an update on the Frimpong situation.
Apparently, the player is ‘keen’ on a possible transfer to Man United. Talks are not at an advanced stage yet, though his agents have met with the Reds, presumably to discuss the possibility of an Old Trafford switch.
To further add to the situation, interest in Frimpong does not change the situation of Dalot, who is currently in contract talks with the club.
Frimpong is someone who’d improve this playing squad. There can be no doubt about that. The right-back is an ideal fit for this system, while aged 22, he still has plenty of room for growth.
In terms of cost, the price could rise due to interest from elsewhere causing a bidding war. Both FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keen on bringing in the man from the Netherlands, which again tells you how talented this young man is.
Hopefully, United can pull a deal off as this would be a lovely piece of business, though it would likely mean the end of Wan-Bissaka’s time in Manchester.
