Jesse Lingard leaves Manchester United on loan

Manchester United’s most promising reserve player Jesse Lingard has left Manchester United on loan until the end of the season. Brighton have acquired the 21-year old’s talents until May, where he’ll be hoping to impress in a bid to earn a first-team spot for the start of the next campaign.

To me this seems like an odd move. United have nothing to play for now, and our wingers aren’t currently impressing so why not give him a chance in the first-team rather than sending him out on loan yet again?

Brighton head coach, Oscar Garcia said the following on the Lingard loan: “We are delighted… he is one of the most exciting young English strikers.”

This is Jesse’s second Championship loan of the season, after he joined Birmingham before the New Year where he scored six goals in thirteen appearances.
