Jesse Lingard has parted ways with Mino Raiola as his agent, as the Englishman’s future remains up in the air.

Last season, Jesse Lingard had fallen down the pecking order, hence why he’d hire superagent Mino Raiola. No move away from Manchester United would come to fruition for the Englishman.

Now, according to ESPN, Lingard and Raiola have parted ways, with the decision a mutual one. Apparently, the pair have separated on good terms, with Lingard now solely represented by his family members and close associates.

What’s interesting is that the article claims that United want to keep ahold of the star, who has only played twice this season. Both of those appearances came in the Carabao Cup.

Understandably, the Reds don’t want to lose Lingard on a free, whose contract expires in 2022, should a one-year extension clause be activated. You’d expect that to happen soon, though United haven’t chosen to do that yet.

In regards to Lingard, he’s considering his options. The player is open to staying, while he’s also wanting to play more regular football after falling down the pecking order.

So what now for Lingard following parting ways with Raiola?

Well, United’s squad is now looking in pretty good shape in terms of personnel and squad depth. Lingard is no longer one of the first names on the team-sheet.

That said, Lingard can still do a job as a squad member. He’s been low on confidence over the last year or so, but if the 27-year-old can get back to his best, he still has plenty to offer.

Quick, an excellent presser, probably our best run-maker and an outstanding teammate. Plus, he absolutely loves United. Sure, he’s not our most talented individual but I’d definitely keep him around if Lingard and the club can come to terms in regards to a new contract.
