Manchester United Football Club put in a horrendous performance against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. Quite frankly, the quicker it is in the rearview mirror, the better.
Jose Mourinho’s men looked toothless. In the first-half, it didn’t look as though they were going to score a goal, nevermind keeping it tight at the back.
Things changed somewhat in the second 45, as Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were introduced to bring fresh ideas to the table. It was the former who probably had the best game out of any Red Devil over the weekend, now, he’s taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to the Old Trafford faithful.
Thank You Travelling Fans, It’s A Shame We Couldn’t Perform For Use All Today ?? Your Support Never Goes Unnoticed ?? #MUFC #JLingz pic.twitter.com/wp6nNCEuGA

He gets it. First and foremost, he’s a fan like every one of us. That loss would have hurt him just as much as it hurt us. The fact that he went straight over to the away end following the game (while some of his teammates headed straight down the tunnel), tells you everything you need to know about his character.
Those fans spent six hours travelling to the south coast to watch their beloved United play. The performance wasn’t good enough, sure, that sometimes happens, but the least you can do is go out and thank the supporters. Lingard deserves credit for that
