Jesse Lingard will leave Man United when his contract expires at the end of June.

Today was a pretty important one in terms of the summer clearout. The Red Devils confirmed that Paul Pogba would leave when his current deal expires at the end of this month.

Then, a few hours later, United were back with another official announcement about a player’s departure. This time, Jesse Lingard.

The Englishman has spent an insane twenty-one years at his beloved Manchester United Football Club to date, joining the U9s time way back in 2001.

From winning the FA Youth Cup, to scoring goals in three cup finals, Lingard has always given his all for the badge on his chest. That will never be taken away from him, nor will the fantastic memories he gave us fans along the way.

Thriving under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, Lingard became a mainstay within the United starting line-up for numerous years, improving season-on-season and constantly coming up with massive goals.

Sadly, it became a little sour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to a lack of playing time. Though Lingard would still show his capabilities during a stunning half-a-season on loan with West Ham United.

Lingard would again return, but remain firmly rooted to the bench. Some ill-advised social media posts followed, which soured the waters a little bit. However, that cannot out-do his overall production and effort over a United career spanning two decades.

He absolutely leaves the club with my good graces and I genuinely hope he goes on to enjoy the rest of his career, wherever he ends up.

Thanks for absolutely everything, Jesse. All the best for the future!
