John McGinn still on Man United’s transfer radar: report

John McGinn is still being eyed for transfer by Man United.

Manchester United Football Club are heading in a different direction under Ralf Rangnick. That’s already evident after just one game at the helm.

With a new man in charge comes new ideas and tactics. The brutal truth is that some players simply won’t fit the German’s tactics and style so they’ll have to leave. There’s also the need for new signings to be made to replace them.

One man that the Red Devils are keen on signing is John McGinn…

The story came from The Sun on Sunday, who state that the 27-year-old Aston Villa is still on United’s transfer radar – along with Amadou Haidara, Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice.

It’s the Scotland international McGinn who has ‘caught the eye’ with influential performances for both club and country, though.

The Villa star has been linked with United for a couple of years now, ever since helping the Midlands outfit return to the Premier League – but injury ruined his hopes of a move to a top club last term.

Back then, Villa wouldn’t have considered a bid of less than £50million. Now, they want even more following McGinn’s brilliant performances at this level. With three-and-a-half years left on his current deal, it’s not going to be cheap.

McGinn feels like someone who is perfect for Rangnick’s high-pressing style. He loves performing with energy and working himself into the ground every single time he takes to the field. I’d also add that the Scotland international is a genuine threat with the ball at his feet.

As a squad player, McGinn would be an unreal signing. However, it’d have to be at the right price because I don’t see United splurging much more than £50m to get this deal done.

Would a Man United move for John McGinn make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
