Solskjaer confirms defensive duo remain sidelined for Fulham game

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered the all-important team news ahead of our game against Fulham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side may well be in third place depending on other results when they take to the field against Fulham tomorrow night. If Manchester United have genuine title aspirations, they simply have to deliver a victory here.

The Baby Faced Assassin has his side playing some lovely stuff, though it’s all about putting points on the board and keeping our noses just in front of our rivals.

With players starting to look a little tired last time out, this is where Solskjaer will probably be looking to utilise the depth within his squad. However, two players will not be available for selection.

During his pre-match press conference, the gaffer would confirm that a pair of United defenders haven’t trained, thus they won’t be involved tomorrow.

Check out what the boss had to say here:

“Well, we’ve not got the test results from COVID and it’s almost 30 hours ago since we did the testing,” Solskjaer told reporters, including the Manchester Evening News.

“So hopefully we get them soon. Everyone trained this morning, more or less. Brandon and Phil Jones didn’t train and the rest were on the pitch.”

Water is wet. Phil Jones is injured. For Solskjaer and the Old Trafford Faithful, this is nothing new. However, the Brandon Williams injury is a little more worrying.

At this point, Williams is our back-up right-back to Aaron Wan-Bissaka. If the Spider was to pick up a problem, with Williams also out, I’m just not sure who’d step in and start in that position.

Hopefully, Williams’ issue isn’t anything serious and he’ll be back out on the grass soon. Having him available also means that Wan-Bissaka isn’t being run into the ground starting every single game.

You’d like to think that whatever side United put out tomorrow should have more than enough quality to deliver another massive three points. Fulham shouldn’t be underestimated, though…
