Manchester United made some big signings over the summer, with Jose Mourinho breaking the world record to bring in Paul Pogba. I personally felt that the best bit of business we’ll make is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and I still stand by that despite a poor start.
However, the usually reliable Times newspaper say that Jose Mourinho left the Armenian out of the Arsenal game because he couldn’t handle the pressure – which is understandable given how low his confidence levels must be right about now.
This is why Manchester United have hired a man like Jose Mourinho. He isn’t afraid of making those huge decisions, and fans’ pressure to play a star like Henrikh Mkhitaryan must’ve been weighing on his shoulders.
It did look as though he made the right call, until Olivier Giroud popped up and stole a point in cruel circumstances. Going forward, I’m sure we’ll see Mkhitaryan feature much more heavily. He is a hugely gifted attacker, and I’ve no doubts that he will succeed at the Theatre of Dreams.
