Manchester United have always been known for their ability to produce top class players directly from the academy. Over recent years, that hasn’t changed with stars like Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard playing an integral part in the first-team.
However, every so often, players will get away, then prove their worth elsewhere. One of those guys who seems to be flourishing right now is Michael Keane, who is playing sensationally for Burnley.
It wasn’t that long ago when the Englishman was handed his first Three Lions cap, and he played brilliantly for Gareth Southgate’s men. Inevitably, that has led to rumours about his future.
Now according to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United have joined the queue of clubs trying to sign the centre-half.
Now 24, his reputation is growing and rightly so. Heck, in my opinion, he’s far better than both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones already – and clearly less injury prone which is a bonus.
I guess it’s disappointing that we allowed him to leave for so cheap, now we’re being quoted around the £30million mark to bring him back. Obviously, that’s quite expensive but Manchester United have already displayed a willingness to pay a lot to bring back a former star – just look at Paul Pogba.
