Jose Mourinho confident that midfielder will be fit to take on WBA this weekend – report

Earlier in the week, we learnt that Marouane Fellaini had been pulled out of Belgium international duty to a toe problem, which would have really concerned Jose Mourinho; particularly given the fact that Paul Pogba is currently injured and Ander Herrera is suspended.

However, we’ve now been given a positive update on that front. According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is confident that the midfielder will be fit to take on West Bromwich Albion this coming Saturday – which will definitely be a weight off of his shoulders.

If things were different, it could have meant that the only senior, fit midfielder we would have had available to us is Michael Carrick, but thankfully, Fellaini is looking likely to be ready to go.

That partnership was the one that took to the field against Middlesbrough just over a week ago now, and on the whole they did pretty well, with the big Belgian finding the back of the net with an excellent header.

I’d probably expect the same duo to start this coming weekend, and hopefully, they should have more than enough to win the key midfield battle. Although that won’t be easy against former Red Darren Fletcher, who is playing supremely well right now.
