Jose Mourinho excludes massive talent from Man United squad travelling to France

Manchester United will take on Saint-Etienne in the Europa League round of 32, second leg, tonight – with Jose’s men entering the game with a 3-0 lead. With that said, there is no room for complacency and the gaffer has picked an extremely strong squad.

The official website announced the 20-man squad that have travelled to France, and it includes all the stellar names, like Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. There is also spaces for Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

However, one man who’ll be bitterly disappointed is Luke Shaw, as the young left-back hasn’t headed to France to take part in the fixture – which must be a real blow for the young man.

The Red Devils are cruising in this tie, and in my opinion, this would have been the perfect game to give him some much-needed minutes out on the field. Obviously, Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff think otherwise – but that begs the question, when will he get his big opportunity? I guess he’ll just have to remain patient for the time being.

It’s also worth noting that Wayne Rooney is missing, but he only returned to training yesterday, so that’d explain his absence – especially with the EFL Cup final looming.

United squad in full: De Gea, O’Hara, Romero; Bailly, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Smalling, Valencia, Young; Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Lingard, Schweinsteiger; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford.
