During Manchester United’s 0-0 draw away at Sevilla, Ander Herrera seemingly picked up a hamstring problem, having to be substituted off the field after just fifteen minutes.
During his pre-match press conference, manager Jose Mourinho explained the severity of the problem, and it doesn’t sound good for the Basque-born midfielder.
As you can see from United’s tweet below, Mourinho isn’t sure as to how long Herrera will be missing for, but the Portuguese boss does say it’s a matter of a ‘few weeks’.

More than anything, it’s a huge shame for the player. Herrera’s struggled to rediscover the scintillating form he displayed last term – and he’s only just come back from a thigh problem that has kept him sidelined for the best part of a month.
As a footballer, consistency and rhythm is key to a successful campaign and the former Athletic Club man hasn’t been allowed that luxury.
For Manchester United in general, they’ll be another midfielder down in the long-term. With Marouane Fellaini already sidelined, it gives the manager a real problem. He now has just four fit central players he can call upon.
