Jose Mourinho explains how long it’ll take Man United to reach the top

Manchester United Football Club have made a simply stunning start to life under Jose Mourinho. Last campaign, the Red Devils won two major pieces of silverware and that was just the start. This season, our eyes are set on bigger things and we couldn’t have asked for a better opening.

Now, manager Mourinho has lifted the lid on how long he thinks it’ll take us to reach the very top of European football once again. The self-proclaimed Special One has claimed that he will probably need one more summer transfer window to get the team in the best shape possible.

So far, the Portuguese coach has had two summer windows, and it’s fair to say that the Old Trafford club are a team on the rise once again.

“I have said three [summer] transfer windows is what I need to have the team I want to have — the team [that] I think can bring Manchester United to the top of English football and to close the gap to the top of European football again — and I still think we need that third transfer window, but I’m not going to wait for the third transfer window to try to reach it,” he said to The Times, as per ESPN FC.

To be honest, I’d be shocked if we didn’t mount a serious title challenge this season. Manchester United have looked great in their opening fixtures and we seem to be playing in a style that suits the manager down to a tee.

Alright, we’ve had a pretty kind fixture list to open things up but you can only beat what is put in front of you, and we’ve passed every single test with flying colours thus far; domestically at least.

I think that the future is bright for us. Mourinho is the best manager in the world when it comes to identifying problems within a team and then fixing them – and long may that continue.
