Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho made some bold tactical decisions against Young Boys. Big players like Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba were dropped to the bench, while Alexis Sanchez wasn’t in the squad at all.
That led to questions as to why. The first thought was that the Chilean was injured. He must have been, surely? Well, according to Mourinho, apparently he was fit. To me, that means it was a tactical decision, which hints at unhappiness between the pair.
Jose: "Sanchez is not injured."

You look at the bench and it would feel a whole lot better if Sanchez was on it. If he’s not injured, I’m baffled as to why he wasn’t given a place as a substitute at least.
Sure, he hasn’t been playing his best football since making the move to Manchester, but he’s a game-changer. On his day, Sanchez is borderline unstoppable.
It has been a tough year for the ex-Arsenal man, and at this point, I wouldn’t be wholly surprised to see him moved on when the January transfer window rolls around.
This experiment hasn’t worked, that’s fine, it happens. The best course of action would be to shift him on while he still has some value, although those huge wages may be a big issue…
