Jose Mourinho eyeing £50million move for Paul Pogba’s potential replacement: report

Jose Mourinho wants Brazilian midfielder Fred as his replacement for Paul Pogba, the Daily Mirror are claiming.

It seems as though the self-proclaimed Special One’s patience with the Frenchman has run out, and now he could well be open to selling Pogba when the summer transfer rolls around.

Fred has been excellent at Shakhtar Donetsk, but the Red Devils would face stiff competition for his signature, with the aforementioned report claiming Manchester City are also keen.

Mourinho apparently wants a more tactically disciplined midfielder which certainly makes sense, but personally, we need that sort of player to start alongside Pogba, not in place of.

It’s already building up to be an intriguing summer, and who knows what’ll happen with Mourinho at the helm. This is a manager who’ll literally sell (and buy) absolutely anyone. Egos and big-names simply don’t matter to him.

With that said, it’s going to be tough to ensure Fred chooses Red over Blue, especially after their league title win. I guess money talks, but the Red Devils will have to throw an awful lot at him to persuade the 25-year-old to move to Old Trafford.
