Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing a sensational move to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford, according to an exclusive by The Sun.
Apparently, two years ago, the Red Devils tried to persuade Tottenham Hotspur into parting with their key man for a figure of £40million plus Javier Hernandez. But, obviously, the move didn’t go through.
Now the Manchester club, led by Mourinho, are ready to break records for Kane in a deal worth £170million. That’s a colossal amount of money, but if you want to acquire the best players, then these are the kind of transfer fees that it takes in the modern-day game.
I love Kane and I think he’s probably the best striker in the country. However, I just don’t see where he fits in at Manchester United. Romelu Lukaku arrived in the summer and the Belgium striker is our main man. Mourinho isn’t going to just push Lukaku out to acquire Kane, is he?
For now, Manchester United are in excellent hands. This rumour seems like pure paper talk in my opinion and I doubt there is any truth in it. Football is a funny old game though, and nothing surprises me anymore.
