Manchester United’s attentions turn to the FA Cup for the first time of the season, as Jose Mourinho prepares his players to host Championship side Reading FC. The fixture is an interesting one for the fans in particular, as Royals’ manager is none other than former United man, Jaap Stam.
Ahead of the game, our manager met the media to discuss all things Manchester United, and at the top of everybody’s thoughts was who is going to play?
Well, Mourinho gave us a bit of early team news, as he has confirmed that both Wayne Rooney and Sergio Romero will start at Old Trafford tomorrow lunchtime.

It’s great to see Wayne Rooney back and available for selection following his injury. The Manchester United legend is just a couple of goals away from becoming our all-time top scorer, and this is a feat we could well see happen this weekend. Hopefully, he’ll be getting a start as the main striker, allowing Zlatan Ibrahimovic some time to rest.
Sergio Romero coming back into the side means David de Gea will have to sit on the bench. It’s up to Jose to choose the games where he is able to rotate the squad, and you have to say he has picked wisely – particularly with the EFL Cup semi-final and Liverpool at home on the horizon.
