Jose Mourinho had scouts at Europa League final watching brilliant Ajax star: report

It was exactly one week ago today when Manchester United lifted the Europa League trophy. Jose Mourinho played an absolute blinder in terms of team selection and setup, and in the end, the 2-0 result was comfortable but yet so important going forward.

Now, according to The Sun, who quote Voetbal Primeur, Manchester United had their scouts watching one of Ajax’s brightest prospects throughout the game; Kasper Dolberg. The 19-year-old who has had a great season was watched by over 30 clubs during the match, which pretty much tells you all you need to know about him.

Although Dolberg had an off night going up against Chris Smalling and Daley Blind, the 19-year-old has had a pretty remarkable debut season back in Holland. In 47 appearances in all competitions, the striker found the back of the net 23 times which is a brilliant return.

My main concern would be that we already have plenty of young talents in that area of the field, with both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford capable of leading the line. I’d much prefer to see us sign a proven, experienced player rather than another youngster.

He’s obviously got all the makings of one of the best in the world but as for right now, I’d be letting him stay with Ajax where he is playing regularly before spending big money to bring him in.
