Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has apparently been involved in a major row with superstar midfielder, Paul Pogba.
That’s according to Tuttosport in Italy, translated by the Daily Express. Apparently, Mourinho and his player clashed following the midfielder’s arrangement of a party in Los Angeles.
The report goes on to highlight the fact that players like Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Phil Jones have reported for training early, while Pogba is still enjoying his holidays.
For me, though, Pogba is entitled to his down-time. He helped Frace win their second World Cup title over the summer, in what would’ve been an exhausting few weeks for him. Personally, I’d prefer Pogba to get himself 100% healed before returning to training.
Say, he comes back early and picks up a serious injury, we could be without him for months rather than weeks. It makes sense to play it safe here, at the end of the day, he knows his body better than anyone.
That probably does mean Pogba won’t play the first few Premier League games but so be it. Fred will have a big opportunity, as will Andreas Pereira. Situations like this is why you have a squad. It’s time for others to fill the #6s spot.
