Manchester United could well be on the lookout for a new long-term manager this coming summer, with Louis van Gaal’s future looking up in the air. Everyone in the media expects Jose Mourinho to take over, and he may just be perfect for the job according to one of his former strikers.
“Jose Mourinho went to Chelsea & fell in love with the Blues. But deep down, he’s more of a Red than he is a Blue.” Benni McCarthy said.
McCarthy and Mourinho worked together at FC Porto over ten years ago now, but as we all know, the self-proclaimed Special One always seems to have that special relationship with his players.
Who knows, McCarthy may genuinely believe his above comments, or he could just be trying to stir the pot somewhat, but his comments make for interesting reading nevertheless.
