Manchester United Football Club had an extremely busy summer transfer window, as Jose Mourinho did his absolute best to lure some top calibre players through the Old Trafford doors. His work is nowhere near done, though, as he looks to further improve things as soon as possible.
Reports say that the self-proclaimed Special One has identified Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez as a potential transfer target, but the deal won’t be a cheap one due to his £56million release clause in the current contract he is under.
The Uruguayan has impressed massively out in Spain, and has forced his way into proceedings on a regular basis which obviously takes some doing with the vast array of talent Diego Simeone has at his disposal.
You’d imagine that any chance of a January transfer is extremely slim due to the fact that it’d be slap-bang in the middle of a season, and the best option would be to hold off and make the move next summer. Even then, though, Madrid are under a transfer ban and they won’t want to sell any of their big names.
