Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are well on their way to being perennial title challengers once again, with the self-proclaimed Special One having a real positive impact on proceedings. His work is not done, and there are still changes to be made come the summer transfer window.
The transfer rumours are already beginning, and this one comes from the Daily Telegraph, who say that Manchester United are monitoring the situation of Chelsea’s Francesc Fabregas. This comes amid interest from AC Milan, who are considering a £27million bid to tempt Conte’s resolve.
Once an Arsenal icon, the 29-year-old moved to FC Barcelona where he endured an unsuccessful spell before moving back to the Premier League with Chelsea. Now Antonio Conte seems to be taking the Blues in another direction, as he seemingly prefers the pairing of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante who are working wonders.
Fabregas is obviously an extremely talented player with bags of ability when it comes to controlling the tempo of a game, and Jose Mourinho obviously knows him well after they won a Premier League title together at Stamford Bridge.
Would I make the move for him? Personally, no. I’d much prefer to see our Portuguese boss look for a younger option in that area of the field because I’m of the opinion that Fabregas’ best days are behind him.
