Jose Mourinho not happy with fixture congestion at Man United & takes swipe at City

Manchester United Football Club are still fighting it out in four competitions (three come Sunday evening), and that has obviously played into the manager’s thinking when it comes to team selection. He has a duty to keep his players fit – but the fixture pile up really isn’t helping.

Now the self-proclaimed Special One has been venting his frustrations to the media, with The Times’ Paul Hirst stating Jose Mourinho is unhappy that United have to play Chelsea, just three days before a Europa League fixture.

Have a look at Paul Hirst’s tweets here:

As you can see, he then went on to take a jibe at Manchester City in the process, as he berated them for playing a weakened team at Stamford Bridge last season.

It will obviously be tough, and the congestion of games is definitely the main reason why English clubs tend to not enjoy the Europa League. However, we’re in it now and Jose Mourinho is obviously quite intent on winning the whole thing.

Fortunately, we do have quite a big playing squad so that the manager can chop and change if he so chooses, but at this point in time it doesn’t look like the boss wants to do that.
