Manchester United secured arguably their best result of the Premier League season at Old Trafford yesterday, coming from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1.
The game as a whole was rather exciting, with both teams doing their utmost to secure the all-important three points. While it was the Red Devils who came out on top, there was one Chelsea player who stood out; Willian.
It seems as though Willian caught Mourinho’s eye, too, with the self-proclaimed Special One hailing the right winger as ‘amazing’ during a post-match interview with ESPN Brazil.
‘Do you want to talk about Willian? Top, cream of the crop, he’s amazing.” Mourinho told ESPN Brazil, translated by the Daily Mail.
‘In his national team there’s no bad players. The Brazil manager (Tite) is really good with huge club experience. You guys will do great things in Russia.’
Certainly high praise indeed. Don’t forget that Jose will know the former Shakhtar man extremely well from their time together at Stamford Bridge, but he was brilliant from the get-go yesterday, and not many players have the ability to beat David de Gea at his near post.
Hey, United are having troubles finding a right-winger they can rely upon, I’m thinking that Mourinho should give his old buddy a call in the summer as I wouldn’t mind him running down our right-wing…
